Israel carried out strikes in Iran, as a result several explosions were reported around Tehran, according to Al Jazeera.
“In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel – right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran”, said Israel’s military spokesperson Daniel Hagari.
“The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th – on seven fronts – including direct attacks from Iranian soil”, he added in a message posted on X.
According to Israel, its military’s attacks ended at about 02:30 GMT, after hitting roughly 20 sites over the course of several hours.
Iran’s reaction to these attacks by Israel
Iran’s air defence forces said in a statement that bases in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces were attacked.
However, the attacks had been successfully countered but that there was “limited damage” in some locations.
Apart from this, Israel is also targeting another country, Lebanon.
On Friday, at least 41 people were killed and 133 wounded in Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
In Lebanon, the country’s Health Ministry said the death toll from Israeli attacks since October 2023 has surged to 2,634 in recent weeks as a result of the escalating assault on the country.
