The Punjab government is launching an air ambulance service on motorways to transform emergency medical care in the province.
Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir praised this initiative during a meeting at the Project Management Unit (PMU) on Saturday. They called it a historic moment for Punjab.
Khawaja Salman Rafique described the service as a major step forward for patient convenience. He said, “For the first time, we are introducing an air ambulance service to provide fast medical help for critical cases on motorways. Rescue teams are being trained for this new service.”

Khawaja Imran Nazir stressed the thorough planning involved. He said, “We have informed all DHQ hospitals about the new air ambulance and motorway emergency services. Our focus is on making sure remote hospitals have enough medicines and doctors. We are committed to giving our people the best medical care.”
The air ambulance service is expected to greatly reduce response times for emergencies on motorways, improving healthcare in the region.
