The government has decided to purchase new printing machines for passports to resolve the ongoing delays. According to Express News, this move is expected to end the passport issuance crisis soon.
The Directorate General of Passports and Immigration has sent a requisition to the Ministry of Interior to acquire the new equipment. The machines, expected to arrive by September, include six desktop printers and two e-passport machines, each capable of printing up to 1,000 passports per hour.

For the past year, passport issuance has been significantly delayed due to a shortage of paper and the limited capacity of the current machines, causing inconvenience for many citizens. The new equipment aims to expedite the process and reduce waiting times.
