The Capital Development Authority spokesperson confirmed on Saturday that the CDA’s environment wing apprehended three men involved in the fire incidents at a location where a fire was raging earlier today. They were subsequently turned over to the Islamabad police.

Just two days ago, a case was registered against 15 individuals accused of setting fires in the area.
The recurring fires have raised significant concerns about environmental damage and public safety on the Margalla Hills, prompting authorities to implement stringent measures to prevent further incidents. The firefighting teams remain dedicated to bringing the situation under control and protecting the natural landscape of the region.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who is also the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman, confirmed the development in a post on X:
“Three individuals have been arrested and 15 FIRs have been lodged regarding the recent fires at Margalla Hills. We will ensure all those responsible are held accountable. We are committed to protecting our beautiful hills at any cost.”
