Dewan Farooque Motors Limited (DFML) on Wednesday made a major announcement. According to DFML, it is reopening its vehicle production plant after a hiatus of nine years.
Following the reopening of its production plant, the company announced to resume the commercial production of the “Special Purpose KIA Commercial Vehicle” with its product name ‘Shehzore’.
The company also stated that it will hold a rollout and launch ceremony on June 4, 2024, which is scheduled for next week. The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) about this development through a notice.

“We look forward to continue serving the people of Pakistan with high-quality products and after-sales services though our strong nationwide dealership network,” it said.
In a statement to The Express Tribune, the company secretary announced the introduction of three variants of the commercial loading vehicle: the KIA Shehzore standard, king size, and double cabin.
He further stated that the vehicle plant stopped operations nine years ago in 2015 when they were producing and assembling passenger cars branded as Hyundai Santro and commercial vehicles like Shehzore. Over the past two years, they have been trying to reintroduce the commercial vehicle.
