WEB DESK: Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment, and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has declared the conclusion of the extension period for offers concerning the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The Privatization Commission has reported receiving Expressions of Interest (EOI) from 8 prominent business entities, both independently and in consortiums. Following this, the Privatization Commission is set to initiate the pre-qualification process, adhering to the regulations outlined in the PC Ordinance 2000.

Among the notable entities that have submitted offers are Fly Jinnah, Air Blue Limited, Habib Corporation, Sardar Ashraf D. Baloch, Shanxi CIG Limited from China, and Gerry’s International Private Limited.

Furthermore, consortiums led by Younas Brothers Holdings (Private), Pak Ethanol, and Blue World City have also demonstrated their interest in the privatization endeavor.
