Parliament’s Structure and Funding
The Parliament of Pakistan, comprising the Senate (Upper House) and the NA (Lower House), has received increased funding compared to previous years to cover rising operational and maintenance expenses. This enhanced funding underscores the importance of ensuring the functionality and preservation of the country’s legislative nerve center.
Renaming Initiative
In a notable development last year, then Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani initiated efforts to rename the Parliament House building. He formed a parliamentary committee tasked with proposing a new name that resonates with Pakistan’s cultural heritage, national values, and embodies the nation’s unity. This initiative reflects broader endeavors to align the identity of Parliament House more closely with the country’s rich cultural and national ethos.
