ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is preparing to introduce its first-ever glass train, offering a stunning travel experience between Islamabad and Murree.
This project will provide passengers with uninterrupted scenic views, making the journey as beautiful as the destination.
The 55-kilometre track will pass through Bhara Kahu, Phurwaha Mor, Ghora Gali, Jhika Gali, and Bhurban, giving travellers breathtaking views of the green hills.The train will have glass-panelled coaches, allowing passengers to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
A cog-and-pinion rack system will ensure safe travel on steep terrains, and a central safety track will provide additional security.
The project is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025. After that, the project will go through international tendering and be implemented through a public-private partnership.
The train will not only attract more visitors, making Murree a more accessible tourist destination; it will also provide a new and scenic travel option between Islamabad and Murree.
The project aims to increase tourism revenue and create new opportunities in the hospitality and travel sectors.
