WEBDESK: Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) and director-choreographer Farah Khan are reportedly working on a sequel to their 2004 blockbuster Main Hoon Na.
According to the Bollywood sources, Farah Khan has come up with a fresh idea for ‘Main Hoon Na 2’, and SRK is thrilled about the direction it’s taking.
The film, which was the first production under Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, holds a special place in their hearts.
According to Bollywood Hangama, Farah is currently developing the screenplay with her team of writers, along with Red Chillies’ in-house team. However, Shah Rukh Khan has made it clear that the sequel should not be made just for the sake of it. He wants the story to be even more impactful than the first film, which is why the script is being carefully developed.
The first draft of the screenplay is expected to be completed by mid-2025, after which SRK will make the final call on whether to move forward with the project.
Farah and Shah Rukh have a history of successful collaborations, having worked together on Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year in addition to Main Hoon Na.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is currently working on his upcoming film King, a gangster drama directed by Siddharth Anand, where he stars alongside Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, and Abhishek Bachchan.
