Interestingly, PTI in its first government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, instead of strengthening the anti-corruption establishment, had established the KP Ehtesab Commission in 2014 to fight corruption. But after the emergence of corruption allegations against PTI ministers and lawmakers, the government repealed the KPEC Act, of 2014, and transferred all the complaints, inquiries and investigations pending before the commission to the Anti-Corruption Establishment.
