ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratluated Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people on the Chinese Lunar New Year.
In a letter to President Xi, President Zardari reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. He looked forward to meeting President Xi in Beijing to discuss deeper cooperation and stronger friendship.
Zardari praised the resilience and solidarity of both nations as All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partners. He acknowledged the efforts of successive leaders in strengthening this unique and exemplary bond.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to the “One China” policy, calling it a cornerstone of foreign policy. He also thanked President Xi for his unwavering support in advancing Pakistan-China relations, especially through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Zardari praised China’s remarkable progress in 2024 and lauded the enduring friendship between both nations. He wished President Xi good health and happiness and hoped for continued prosperity for the Chinese people.
In a video message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted China’s progress as a testament to President Xi’s wisdom and leadership.
