WEBDESK: The Indian Cricket Board has officially announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The announcement was made in Mumbai during a press conference led by Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and team captain Rohit Sharma.
The squad includes the return of pacer Mohammed Shami and spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Shami, who last featured in white-ball cricket during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, is set to strengthen the bowling lineup. Alongside him, star bowler Jasprit Bumrah has also been included, forming a formidable pace attack for the tournament.
India’s Champions Trophy campaign will see all their matches played in Dubai. Fans are optimistic about the team’s performance, especially with seasoned players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja in the mix.
The squad is led by Rohit Sharma as captain, with Shubman Gill as vice-captain. Key players include Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya. Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar will provide depth in the bowling department. All-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel add versatility to the team.
Rishabh Pant will handle wicketkeeping duties, while young talent Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been included in the squad. Harshit Rana has been named as a reserve player, ready to step in if needed.
