KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Department has exposed a human trafficking network, arresting three passengers and a travel agent from Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

According to the FIA statement, the agency arrested suspects including passengers Haseeb Ahmed, Qaiser Ahmed, Usman Ali, and agent Abdul Shakoor. The suspects hailed from Faisalabad, Chiniot, Gujranwala, and Nankana Sahib.

The initial investigation revealed that human trafficker Abdul Shakoor made deals of Rs 1.4 million with each passenger on the pretext of sending them to Poland via Azerbaijan. The suspects claimed that they had given the agent an advance of Rs 250,000 each.

As per details, the accused agent Abdul Shakoor obtained the visas of passengers from Zam Zam Travel Shangla Hill.

The FIA further uncovered that the arrested passengers had plans to illegally enter Poland using “Dunki” routes and sea crossings from Azerbaijan.

According to the initial investigation, important evidence was recovered from Abdul Shakoor’s mobile phone. It was revealed that the human trafficker was in contact with an Indian agent, named Gautam Sharma, in Azerbaijan, who facilitates the immigrants entering Poland.

The accused was transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further investigation.
