ISLAMABAD: Dense fog blanketed parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) forcing the closure of multiple sections of major motorways to ensure public safety.
A spokesperson of Motorway Police said that visibility issues forced the closure of Motorways including M4 from Shorkot to Multan.
Motorway Police say that Motorway M5 from Multan to Sukkur has also been closed after low visibility was recorded.
Similarly, the motorway (M1) from Peshawar to Burhan has also been closed for all kinds of traffic until further orders due to reduced visibility due to smog and fog.
The Motorway Police advised people to avoid traveling unnecessarily and if it was inevitable, prefer traveling during the daytime; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The police said motorists must use their vehicles’ front and back lights while driving and keep a reasonable distance from other vehicles.
The MP asked people to immediately contact its staffers on helpline number 130 in an emergency.
