WEBDESK: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former Prime Minister (PM) Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif celebrated his 75th birthday today.

He was born on December 25, 1949, in Lahore and belongs to a Kashmiri family.

In his early life, Nawaz Sharif studied commerce at Government College Lahore and later obtained a law degree from Punjab University Law College.

He began his political journey in the late 1970s and entered public service as Punjab’s Finance Minister during General Zia-ul-Haq’s era.

Nawaz Sharif served as Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab from 1985 to 1990 and held the office of PM three times (1990–1993, 1997–1999, and 2013–2017). However, he could not complete a full term in any of his premierships.

One of his most notable achievements was making Pakistan a nuclear power on May 28, 1998, with successful nuclear tests in response to India’s. During his tenure, significant progress was made in reducing terrorism and ending energy shortages.
