Google, the world’s leading search engine, remains an integral part of daily internet usage, hosting billions of searches every day. At the end of each year, Google unveils a list of the most-searched topics, offering fascinating insights into user interests.
Cricket poised to lead searches
Cricket topped the list with the most popular searches indicating an obsession throughout the nation. Most searched was the T20 World Cup, followed by the Pakistan matches against England, Bangladesh, Australia, and India.
Bollywood fever in movies and shows
In the Movies and TV Shows subsection, it was dominantly Bollywood that piqued Pakistani interest. Most searched was Heera Mandi, followed by 12th Fail and Animal. Mirzapur Season 3 and Stree 2 took the time captured at positions four and five, respectively.
Culinary curiosity soars with recipes
Pakistani people proved to be quite food-hungry in 2024 as Banana Bread received the highest number of searches among the recipe categories. Other sought-after recipes included Malpura, Garlic Bread, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and a regional dish titled Tawa Kaleji.
AI takes charge of technology
Open up the technology category, and what had to be typical influence worldwide would yield artificial intelligence in the conclusion. The most searched tech term in Pakistan was OpenAI’s ChatGPT, followed by Microsoft’s Bing Image Creator and Google’s AI model, Gemini.
