A court martial was initiated against him earlier this year, and he was arrested and taken into custody on August 12.

There are allegations suggesting former Prime Minister Imran Khan intended to appoint Faiz Hameed as the army chief. However, Khan vehemently denies these claims, asserting that he never sought to install his own Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
