Senior analyst Ayaz Amir has strongly criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Imran Khan over the protests on November 24.

Ayaz Amir stated that while PTI members are asking why the gun was fired, the real question should be why they went to D-Chowk in the first place.

He argued that before asking why the gun was fired, two questions should have been asked: first, why was the gun fired, and second, why did you go to a place where the gun was being fired? What compelled them to go there?

He claimed that PTI is at fault for sending their workers to protest in an already tense area, and once they were stuck there, what was the political strategy behind offering condolences at funerals?

He further pointed out that the naive public, who chant slogans for their leader, must also understand that political struggle without thinking through actions leads to nothing.

Ayaz Amir also questioned what PTI gained from this action. Was putting the public’s lives in danger by involving them in the protest a political strategy? He cited the writings of Lenin, stating that while his books never mentioned how bad the situation was, they discussed what actions should be taken to change the situation.

Ayaz Amir mentioned that PTI has been in a difficult situation for over a year, with the dust of May 9 still unsettled. He questioned how long PTI plans to put their supporters through these challenges, calling it an inappropriate attitude. He urged PTI to demonstrate responsibility in its politics.

He also pointed out that PTI’s political strategy was flawed, as they launched the protest movement hastily without any comprehensive plan.

He emphasised that such reckless and unplanned actions not only put the public’s lives at risk but also negatively impacted the party’s credibility.

Ayaz Amir concluded that a political party has a responsibility to ensure the safety of its workers.
