DI KHAN: Saqlain Khan Gandapur, a close relative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Kulachi Tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan.
According to family sources, Saqlain’s father, Ismail Khan, is the brother of CM Ali Amin Gandapur’s father, making Saqlain a direct relative of the provincial chief.
The motives behind the shooting remain unclear, law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident.
The incident occurred a day after the Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur claimed improved law and order situation in the province.
Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister said that the law and order situation in the province had significantly improved under his leadership. He highlighted the active role of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), which has been working diligently to combat security threats.
He said that the Counter Terrorism Department was performing quite well. There are 16 CTD stations in the province, the performance of the prosecution has also improved.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that the CTD has foiled thousands of terrorist acts, for which he salute to IG, DIG and KP police officers.
The Chief Minister KP said that in the Apex Committee, the Prime Minister said that the CTD is not functional properly in KP. The PM has received wrong information.
He said that funds are also being provided for 16 snipers, we have a very long border, we will continue to make sacrifices for the country.
Ali Amin said that the province lab has been updated, after which there is no need to go to Punjab anymore for forensics.
He said that we are purchasing twenty bomb-proof vehicles, the CTD officials have a problem with kits, funds will be released for 300 kits in total.
The Chief Minister said that whenever the PTI called, the people supported it, the Model Town incident is in front of everyone, these things are their way, we demand that there should be real freedom in the country.
He further said that thousands of our workers are arrested, many are missing, what happened at the Pashtun Jirga was also done by the federal government, the government is defaming itself at the international level by killing own citizens.
Further, he stated that the law and order improved in his government. “The provincial government is going to approve the purchase of 16 drones for the forces.
