ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday said that PTI founding chairman Imran Khan is not a political prisoner.

Talking to foreign media in Islamabad, he said that the founder of PTI is not being targeted for political revenge, he has serious corruption cases against him.

He said that the founder of PTI has to provide evidence that he did not do anything. He said that PTI was involved in foreign funding. He said that the founder of PTI used delaying tactics in foreign funding case.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the miscreants damaged the monuments of the martyrs, and no civilized society can tolerate what was done in Islamabad in the name of protest.

The federal minister said that the PTI was claiming that the protest would not end until the founder of PTI was released.

While Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said PTI wanted to take over the capital through violent protests. He was briefing members of foreign media alongside Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad a day after security forces cleaned the capital from the PTI protest.

The IG Islamabad on Wednesday said that 610 protesters, including 19 Afghan nationals, had been arrested while more than 200 vehicles were seized.

“They were not peaceful protesters at all as they were armed with guns and slingshots,” Attaullah Tarar.
