WEB DESK: The Anti-Terrorism Court has handed down sentences to the first 10 individuals involved in the May 9 cases on Friday.
The convicted criminals include Abid Mahmood son of Muhammad Saqib (resident of Islamabad), Ahsan Ayaz son of Muhammad Ayaz (resident of Islamabad), and Naeemullah son of Abdul Qadir (resident of Bajaur). Mutiullah son of Amin Khan (Rawalpindi), Shaukat son of Fazal Dad (resident of Islamabad), and Zakirullah son of Bismillah Khan (resident of Bajaur) are included as per sources.
According to sources, among the 10 convicted persons, 4 are Afghan nationals who were living in different areas of Pakistan.
The convicted Afghan criminals include Dawood Khan son of Khan Agha, Younis Khan son of Khan Muhammad, Ihsanullah son of Ziaul Haq, and Lal Agha son of Khan Agha.
Moreover, punishment for offenders includes imprisonment for up to 6 years and a fine.
FIR 626/24 was registered on May 10 against a total of 17 criminals, among the named accused, 1 accused was acquitted after investigation, 6 criminals are absconding while 10 have been sentenced.
Non-bailable arrest warrants are issued for absconding criminals and ordered to appear in court as soon as they are arrested
Criminals involved in anti-state activities, including masterminds and facilitators, will not be shown any leniency under the guise of protest.
