RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi declared 23 individuals, including senior PTI leaders Zulfi Bukhari, Shehbaz Gill, Murad Saeed, and Hammad Azhar as proclaimed absconders and issued their permanent arrest warrants in the GHQ attack case.
During the hearing today, ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah issued an order prohibiting the accused from leaving the country and sent a letter to the Director-General of Immigration, directing him to enforce the ban.
The travel ban was imposed under Section 28A of the ATC Act which applies to the nominated suspects in this case. ATC judge also issued directives to confiscate the properties of the accused.
Additionally, PTI founder Imran Khan also received the inspection note with his signature in connection with the GHQ attack case. On this occasion, the defense lawyers objected that Imran Khan’s name was not included in the list of accused and that it was a tampered document.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) summoned former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi for indictment in the GHQ gate attack case on November 25.
During the hearing of the case, the police submitted a new inspection note in the court detailing evidence from 54 locations near the GHQ gate, including destruction, arson, and the recovery of equipment used in the attack.
