RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday imposed a travel ban on the accused named in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case, which happened after the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9, 2023.

ATC issued an order prohibiting the accused from leaving the country and sent a letter to the Director-General of Immigration, directing him to enforce the ban.

The travel ban was imposed under Section 28A of the ATC Act which applies to the nominated suspects in this case.

Additionally, PTI founder Imran Khan also received the inspection note with his signature in connection with the GHQ attack case. On this occasion, the defense lawyers objected that Imran Khan’s name was not included in the list of accused and that it was a tampered document.

It should be noted that the 120 accused facing trial in the GHQ case will be indicted on November 25. The court declared 23 accused including Shehbaz Gill, Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar, and Zulfi Bukhari as proclaimed offenders and permanent arrest warrants against them.
