A woman was allegedly raped after she was tricked by the suspect over the return of her mobile phone in the Nazir Town area of Bhakkar city.
According to the police, the victim said that the suspect first harassed her at the DHQ hospital and later took away her mobile phone. Later, the suspect called her at his place on the pretext of returning her mobile phone.
Upon reaching the place, the suspect along with his friend raped her, police said quoting the victim.
Police added that the victim has been shifted to a hospital for medical checkups and raids are being conducted to arrest the suspect.
Earlier this week, a 13-year-old girl was raped by a Madrassa cleric in Okara, local police said. The incident occurred at Jama Masjid Faizan-e-Madina in Renala where a seminary teacher raped the victim and reportedly coerced her into remaining silent.
The case was lodged after the victim’s mother found her girl seven months pregnant. The victim’s mother in FIR said that the cleric had intimidated her daughter into not speaking out about his offense.
A medical examination also confirmed pregnancy which led the victim’s family to initiate legal action against the suspect. Police said that the suspect escaped to Multan, however, Renala police successfully tracked him down and arrested him.
