Electric buses will soon start operation in five major cities of Punjab including Lahore as the government official said that the purchases of buses are in in final stage.
According to the reports, govt has finalised the plan to build Pakistan’s first and largest state-of-the-art Green Bus Depot will be built in Lahore.
The work for the establishment of a state-of-the-art “Vehicle Testing Laboratory” in Punjab is also in the final stages.
Last month, the Punjab Assembly was told that 680 environment-friendly electric buses at a cost of Rs40 billion would be run in Punjab. Punjab Minister for Transport, Bilal Akbar Khan said that Pink Buses would also start operating in Punjab to facilitate the women of the province.
Transport Minister told PA that 680 electric buses would run in Punjab out of which 300 will be for Lahore, 100 for Multan, 110 for Faisalabad and 42 for Bahawalpur will be operational.
