For more than a week now, Lahore has consistently ranked as the most polluted city in the world, leaving people wondering when it will rain to reduce the smog.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather in most parts of the country, including Lahore, and no rain has been predicted.

In 2023, artificial rain was carried out in Lahore to combat smog. This year too, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has stated that artificial rain is also planned for Lahore.

Lahore weather seven-day prediction


According to AccuWeather, the minimum temperature in Lahore today will likely hover around 24 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature might reach 30 degrees Celsius.

As per the seven-day weather prediction, the temperature in Lahore is likely to reach 30 degrees Celsius on Friday. The temperature will remain up to 30 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.


According to PMD prediction for the next week, smog and fog will persist in most areas of Punjab including Lahore for the next couple of days. The weather in Lahore will remain mainly dry until Wednesday. The weather on Wednesday predicted partly could with a low chance of rain.


The Air Quality Index (AQI) of Lahore continued to remain in the ‘hazardous’ category on Thursday. According to the Global website on pollution, Air Quality Index (IQAir), the AQI of Lahore was recorded at 784 at 9am, slightly better than Wednesday’s average AQI recorded at the same time.
