The Punjab government has purchased three bulletproof coasters to enhance the security of Chinese nationals, other foreign visitors, and important figures in the province.
In addition to these bulletproof coasters, three high-roof vans are also being acquired to further strengthen the security fleet.
According to sources, the high-roof vans will soon be added to the security pool for enhanced protection.
This decision to purchase the bulletproof vehicles was made following a terrorist attack on a Chinese convoy in Karachi. In response to that incident, the Cabinet Committee on Interior recommended the acquisition of the vehicles.
The purchase was made by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) based on a recommendation from the Home Department.
The use of bulletproof vehicles for the protection of foreign nationals and key figures has now commenced in the province.
