Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has claimed that internet service has been fully restored across the country after 4 months.

According to the PTA, the fault in the SMW submarine cable has been rectified, resulting in a shortfall of 1750 GBs of data. Furthermore, the PTA has also stated that three new cables will be added in the country in the next two years, which will increase the capacity of the Internet.

Pace cable is added to the system, which is expected to further improve the Internet facility. Apart from this, two Transworld International and one PTCL cable will also be added, further strengthening the communication system.

Separately, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Tuesday stated that internet disruptions and slow speed issues will be resolved by the end of October.

According to PTA sources, the installation and upgrading of the Web Management System (WMS) will be completed by October 20.

The PTA sources further revealed that the installation of the WMS will also help prevent attacks on the internet system.

PTA sources said that with the upgrade, a capacity of 8 to 9 terabytes can be managed.
