CM Punjab announces to launch Minority Card

In a gesture marking Diwali, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz extended warm wishes to the Hindu community and highlighted the importance of equality and unity among all Pakistanis.

Addressing a gathering in Lahore, she stressed that minorities are an integral part of the nation, not separate from it, and affirmed the government’s commitment to their well-being.

Maryam Nawaz also announced that 1,400 minority families will receive a special Diwali gift of Rs15,000 each. Furthermore, she revealed the launch of a new minority support card, designed to provide Rs10,000 every three months to eligible minority households.

The Chief Minister underscored the significance of minorities in Pakistan’s growth and development, noting that budget allocations for their welfare have been doubled.

Reflecting on broader social issues, she urged collaborative efforts between India and Pakistan to tackle the severe smog crisis affecting the region, emphasising that environmental issues transcend borders and must be addressed collectively.
