Mirzapur: The Film to hit cinemas in 2026

The popular Prime Video series Mirzapur is set to make its transition to the big screen, with a film adaptation slated for release in 2026.

According to reports, fans can look forward to the return of beloved characters portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi, among others.

Excel Entertainment’s producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are thrilled at the possibility of bringing Mirzapur to the big screens. “Our joy knows no bounds when we say that we have been entrusted with adapting such a unique series into a feature film, bringing more to an already stunning franchise that has been enjoyed due to its incredible story-telling and characters,” they said. “This would enable everyone to get into the Mirzapur world in the most advanced manner, a better one than ever.”

The film also promises to explore more of the dark backdrops of the Mirzapur, typical of the theatre in a true sense as heroes would return as the villains. This is ‘Mirzapur’ which is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios along with, Excel Entertainment – With Puneet Krishna attached as creator, Gurmmeet Singh as director.

With the Mirzapur franchise making a mark and proving to be a success over three seasons, the creators are enthusiastic about the prospects of meeting the high expectations from their loyal viewers saying, “We are looking forward to working with Prime Video again and excited to present an amazing visual treat.”
