The Sindh Counterterrorism Department (CTD) on Monday said it had arrested three alleged terrorists with links to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Karachi’s Sohrab Goth Town.

The individuals apprehended had confessed to plotting attack on Karachi’s police, the department said in a statement, adding that the identities of the suspects were disclosed as Muhammad Sagheer, Haji Rehman, and Farhad.

The CTD further stated that they had recovered pamphlets belonging to the banned TTP in addition to three pistols, the latter of which will be sent to the laboratory for analysis.

It is worth mentioning that the TTP had claimed responsibility for a gun attack at police personnel in Sohrab Goth back in June. The attack had led to to the death of Police Constable (PC) Muhammad Yasin. PC Salman Abbas was injured in the attack.

The Punjab CTD on Saturday had seven alleged terrorists with ties to banned outfits during intelligence-based operations.
