The people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are again facing traffic jams and road closures on the Expressway, Murree Road, and 6th Road ahead of the Pakistan vs England third Test match scheduled to be played from October 24 to October 28 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Traffic is disrupted in the twin cities as the host and guest teams travel from their hotel to the stadium for practice sessions.
According to the video shared by Ground Zero pk on social media Islamabad highway was seen blocked again on Monday.
According to Champs on the Go, an Instagram page providing real-time traffic updates, the movement of the England and Pakistan cricket teams will occur daily between 8am and 5pm until October 28th. During these times, traffic in the twin cities will be significantly disrupted.
The people of Islamabad have been facing continuous traffic jams and closed routes on the roads for quite some time. The city has been intermittently blocked for normal traffic due to protests, then the summit, and now it is closed for the cricket team’s travel from their hotel to the stadium.
People who commute daily to offices, schools, and colleges are irked by the constant disruption in traffic flow, as it affects their daily lives.
In October, many routes and roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi were closed due to the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) that took place from October 15-16 in Islamabad.
Roads were also closed on October 4 due to a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest at D-Chowk in support of the judiciary.
