Karachi police have filed a case against Mahrang Baloch, accusing her of incitement and facilitating terrorist activities, according to official reports.
The case alleges that Baloch has been actively influencing educated youth in Balochistan, urging them towards extremism.
Authorities have charged Mahrang Baloch under the Anti-Terrorism Act, accusing her of orchestrating rallies and processions to facilitate the covert movement of terrorists. A copy of the First Information Report (FIR), obtained by Azaad Digital, outlines multiple charges against her, including provocation and incitement.
Mahrang Baloch offloaded from flight to New York
Earlier, Mahrang Baloch was offloaded from a flight to New York by the federal government just before she was set to attend a Time magazine event this week, she said on social media.
Baloch, who had been named one of Time’s 100 most influential people for her peaceful advocacy of Baloch rights, accused the government of unlawfully removing her from the flight. She claimed the move reflected the state’s “growing fear and insecurity” toward Baloch activists.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Baloch said an official from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) offloaded her “without any valid or legal justification,” and that her passport was confiscated.
