The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by Rs0.7 paisa against the US dollar (USD) in Thursday’s interbank session to settle at Rs277.79, according to the State Bank.
On Wednesday, the dollar had depreciated against the rupee to close at Rs277.72 in the interbank market.
These fluctuations highlight the ongoing volatility in currency exchange rates as economic conditions continue to evolve.
In a separate development, gold prices in Pakistan on Thursday decreased for the third straight day after a decline in the international bullion rates.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of per tola gold decreased by Rs500 to set at Rs271,500.
This reduction reflects a drop in global gold prices, which experienced a decline of $30.52 to settle at $2,614.66 per ounce.
