Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Rehman declared his acceptance of the Supreme Court’s decision on Article 63-A and reiterated his party’s opposition to the amendment bill, labeling it unworthy of passage.
During a press conference, he criticised the government for enacting swift legislation driven by objective, political, and personal interests.
Furthermore, he pointed out the collapse of governmental authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, arguing that further legislation is unnecessary at this time. Rehman also expressed a desire for judicial reforms, noting his prolonged wait regarding the 18th Amendment.
Moreover, he stated the significance of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, welcoming leaders and delegates from around the globe, and expressed hope that the conference would serve as a positive step towards Pakistan’s progress.

In addition, Rehman called for the postponement of the constitutional amendment bill, stressing the need for political unity amidst prevailing divisions. He urged the opposition to suspend their protests to avoid sending a negative message to the visiting dignitaries.
Commenting on the recent violence during a Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) gathering, Rehman deemed it unfortunate and warned that such actions could empower anti-Pakistan movements. He advocated for fostering a patriotic atmosphere and integrating protesters into the mainstream political discourse.
Furthermore, addressing the ongoing registration issues of religious seminaries, he highlighted the lack of urgency in resolving matters that often receive praise from the West, asserting that if the importance of their perspective is recognised, they too should be heard amidst the nation’s challenges.
