As tensions in the Middle East escalate, the Kremlin has confirmed that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit Tehran on Monday, September 30, to meet Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Moscow has condemned Israeli strikes on Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon, expressing concern over the growing regional conflict.
Western governments accuse Tehran of supplying lethal drones to Russia for its war in Ukraine, while Israel continues its offensive, recently targeting the port of Hodeidah in Yemen. The Yemeni military has warned of serious consequences.

Mishustin’s visit is seen by some analysts as a gesture of support for Iran during these turbulent times. According to a Russian government statement, Mishustin will hold talks with Pezeshkian and Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, focusing on expanding cooperation across trade, economics, and cultural sectors.
The discussions will emphasize joint projects in transport, energy, industry, and agriculture. Additionally, Pezeshkian is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin during next month’s BRICS summit in Russia, signaling deepening ties between the two nations.
