Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan has cancelled the scheduled rally in Mianwali and announced a new public gathering in Rawalpindi on September 28.
Khan warned the government that if the authorities try prevent the rally from taking place, PTI will pursue legal action and take to the streets in protest.
Khan, while addressing the media, dismissed a recent article published in an Israeli newspaper as “propaganda”.
“My position regarding Israel remains unchanged,” the PTI founder insisted, stressing his continued opposition to any normalisation of ties. “How can I support relations with a state that is responsible for the genocide of Palestinians?” he questioned.
PTI to stage rally in Mianwali on Sep 29
Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan announced that the party’s next rally would be held in Mianwali on Sunday, September 29, however, it is not happening anymore.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar addressed the difficulties the party has faced in securing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the government to organise rallies. He emphasised that even when NOCs are granted, they often come with restrictive conditions that complicate the event planning process.

He highlighted the success of PTI’s recent rally in Lahore, which drew a large crowd despite the closure of the motorway that day. Gohar personally faced delays and was stuck for four hours on his way to the rally.
Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also struggled with roadblocks, . He arrived in Lahore by 5pm but unable to reach the venue in time due to blockage. The rally ended by 6pm.
