Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who has been away from the film industry for several years, is reportedly set to make a return with a romantic comedy for Netflix. According to recent reports, the project will be produced by his uncle, renowned actor Aamir Khan, under the Aamir Khan Productions banner.
Imran, best known for his roles in films like Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, was last seen on screen in the 2015 film Katti Batti alongside Kangana Ranaut. After stepping away from acting, Imran took time off to focus on personal matters and address mental health challenges.
In a recent interview with India Today Digital, Imran opened up about his hiatus and the journey towards his return, acknowledging that the path back to filmmaking has been gradual. “I don’t have a clear answer to that. It’s not for lack of trying,” he said when asked about his absence. “I’m having conversations with writers, directors, and producers, trying to find something that really sparks.”
Though details about the Netflix project remain under wraps, the collaboration between the two Khans has already generated significant excitement among fans and within the Bollywood industry.
Imran Khan also hinted at two other stories that have caught his interest, though both are in the early stages of development.
With Aamir Khan’s production backing his comeback, Imran’s return is expected to make waves in the industry. However, the exact release date and further details of the Netflix film are yet to be announced.
