The ID card is a requirement for a range of activities, including purchasing property, opening bank accounts, and securing employment. It also facilitates financial inclusion by enabling citizens to open bank accounts and manage tax-related processes. Citizens are reminded to renew their Smart ID Cards before or immediately after expiry to continue accessing these services.
As of September 2024, the revised fees for a 10-year validity card are as follows:
- Normal: Rs750
- Urgent: Rs1,500
- Executive: Rs2,500
These fees cover the processing of applications, but do not include delivery charges. Processing times begin once applications are approved. NADRA continues to manage the issuance and renewal of Smart ID Cards, ensuring access to essential services for all Pakistani citizens.
