WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will enable users to interact with Meta AI via voice commands, according to a recent discovery in the latest beta update for Android, version 2.24.18.18, accessible through the Google Play Beta Program.
The feature, which is still in the development phase and not yet available to beta testers, was identified by WABetaInfo, a reliable source for uncovering forthcoming WhatsApp functionalities. This new voice chat mode will allow users to engage in real-time conversations with Meta AI, providing a hands-free and more intuitive method of interaction compared to traditional text input.
The feature will include options for users to select their preferred voice for Meta AI’s responses, thereby personalizing the user experience. Additionally, WhatsApp is implementing a shortcut to activate voice chat mode quickly. Users will be able to initiate a voice interaction by pressing a floating action button located in the chat list.

To address privacy concerns, WhatsApp will offer the option to disable the voice chat mode at any time. Users can either exit the chat or revert to text mode, ensuring they maintain full control over their interactions with the AI.
The introduction of this feature is anticipated to enhance communication efficiency within WhatsApp, making interactions with Meta AI more seamless and rapid.
