Saudi Arabia has launched a new visa program called the ‘Direct Umrah Program’ to enhance services for pilgrims, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Tuesday.
This initiative enables companies to serve pilgrims directly, removing the need for intermediaries and streamlining the process.
The ‘Direct Umrah Program’ is designed to enhance pilgrims’ experiences by including visits to historical and religious sites related to Islamic heritage, as well as other key landmarks in Saudi Arabia, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The program was introduced at the second meeting of Umrah organizations, organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in collaboration with the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP), part of Saudi Vision 2030.
The meeting aimed to tackle challenges and find solutions to improve the pilgrim experience, introducing tools and metrics for better service quality. It is pertinent to mention that Saudi Arabia started welcoming Umrah pilgrims in July after the Hajj.
