The case of Pakistani actress Nimra Khan, who claimed to have narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt earlier this month, has taken a dramatic turn. Police have reclassified the incident as a case of harassment.
In a video statement, SDPO Darakshan Manisha Rupita revealed that investigations into the alleged abduction on August 11 had concluded that the actress was not kidnapped but harassed. Khan had claimed she was targeted by armed men while waiting for her family outside a hotel in Karachi’s Defence area.
Following the actress’s public appeal, senior police officials ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. DSP Rupita stated that the accused was alone on a motorcycle, contrary to Khan’s initial account of multiple assailants.

“It was not a case of abduction but harassment,” said the police officer. “Two incidents of harassment against women have come to light in recent days, and the accused in both cases have been arrested.”
Police have created a route map of the suspect involved in the Nimra Khan case and are actively searching for him.
Despite the reclassification, Khan has praised the police for their efforts in investigating the matter. “I am very satisfied with the performance of the police,” she said. “The police worked day and night to investigate and collect evidence.”
