The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is using hunting cats to tackle the rat infestation at Parliament House.

They have set aside Rs 12 lakh for this unusual pest control method.

Special netted windows will be installed to trap rats and stop them from entering sensitive areas.

The infestation is due to rats breeding in the ceilings, especially active at night, and causing damage in various offices, including chewing through important files.

The CDA will also get help from the private sector and has a year-long budget to manage the rat problem.

The National Assembly Secretariat has confirmed that the CDA will oversee the rat eradication efforts.
