The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on the occasion of the annual Urs of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

Moreover, the notification states that the public holiday will be observed on August 20, Tuesday.

In addition, official events will include the Shah Latif Literary Conference, traditional Sindhi boat race “Malakhro,” a Sufi music gathering, agricultural and industrial exhibitions, the establishment of a cultural village for promoting and advertising cultural items, and the presentation ceremony of Sindh’s most prestigious award, the “Shah Latif Award.”

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is held every year from the 14th of Safar in Bhit Shah, the city where his final resting place is located.
