In an effort to help students keep up with their studies without interruptions, the Sindh Textbook Board will distribute free tablets among students from Grade 9 to Intermediate across the province.
The announcement was made at an event in Karachi’s Sindh Textbook Board warehouse, where Chairman Abdul Aleem Lashari was present. During the event, textbooks for the upcoming academic year were also distributed.
Lashari told the media that to prevent delays or shortages of textbooks, free tablets will be given to students from Grade 9 to Intermediate, ensuring their education remains uninterrupted.
He added that in the first phase, tablets will be provided to senior students, with other grades receiving them in the second phase. He also revealed that the goal is to transition the Sindh Textbook Board to a paperless system to meet modern needs.

Lashari said that the Chief Minister of Sindh will make the final decision on the plan, and it will be put into effect once approved. He also added that the distribution of free textbooks for this academic year is almost finished.
The chairman noted that approximately 27.5 million textbooks are being given out for free across Sindh’s 30 districts. The first phase of distribution started on July 30, with the second phase set to begin on August 15.
Lashari also warned that publishers who do not deliver books on time will face consequences.
