The record was achieved using 1890s technology from the Shoelace Factory, located within the museum, and took over 24 hours to complete. The shoelace was finished with custom aglets and measured on the Eads Bridge, a 150-year-old landmark.

Moreover, Katy Enrique, the museum’s Director of Marketing, highlighted the meticulous effort involved, stating that the shoelace was verified as functional and officially measured.

Furthermore, this record not only showcases the museum’s innovative approach but also celebrates St. Louis’s rich shoe-making history, reinforcing its role as a hub of creativity and community engagement.
