The Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday announced that the country will be operated under interim government following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s resignation.

The army chief also urged student protesters to “remain calm and return home.” He noted that representatives from all major political parties were involved in discussions with the army.
“We will also ensure that justice is served for every death and crime that occurred during the protests,” he added.
