Zee Studios has announced the re-release of the blockbuster film “Gadar 2” in collaboration with India Signing Hands (ISH).

The special screening, set ahead of the film’s first anniversary, will include Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation to make the movie accessible to Deaf audiences.In their statement, Zee Studios expressed excitement about this initiative, highlighting that the film will be shown in select PVR cinemas across the country.

The collaboration was initiated by ISH News, a Mumbai-based organization founded by Alok Kejriwal, who is Deaf, and aims to create an inclusive cinematic experience for differently-abled viewers.

Umesh Kr Bansal, CBO of Zee Studios, remarked, “Gadar 2 is deeply ingrained in the hearts of Indians. We are thrilled to re-release it for such a significant cause. Our goal is to make cinema accessible to everyone, and partnering with India Signing Hands is a step in that direction.”Sunny Deol, reprising his iconic role as Tara Singh, shared, “Gadar 2 is incredibly special to me. Witnessing the ongoing support from audiences a year after its release is overwhelming. This ISL interpretation re-release will reach even more people.”

Meanhwile, Ameesha Patel, returning as Sakina, added, “The Gadar films have been a remarkable journey. It’s gratifying to present Sakina’s story to an audience that often misses out on fully enjoying cinema, and I hope this inspires more filmmakers to embrace inclusivity.”

Furthermore, Alok Kejriwal, ISH News founder and CEO, expressed gratitude to Zee Studios for their empathy towards the Deaf community’s accessibility needs in the entertainment sector.

Gadar 2, set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, follows Tara Singh’s heroic efforts to rescue his son Charanjeet (Utkarsh Sharma). The film with ISL interpretation will screen on Sunday, August 4, at select PVR cinemas in major Indian cities.
