According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), cement sales in July 2024 decreased by 6.81%.
Moreover, the association reported that total cement sales for the month were 3.01 million tons, compared to 3.23 million tons in July 2023.
The manufacturers highlighted that domestic cement sales in July 2024 were 2.463 million tons, showing an 11.41% decline from the previous July.

However, exports saw a significant increase of 21.65%, with 547,162 tons of cement exported in July 2024, up from 449,792 tons in July 2023.
in addition, APCMA stated that the cement sector is severely impacted by high operational costs and taxes, urging the government to reconsider its tax policies.
Furthermore, they also mentioned that cement falls under the Third Schedule, and the manufacturers bear the sales tax burden.
