The Pakistani government has announced its decision to take legal action against journalists Murtaza Hussain, Ryan Grim, and the website Drop Site in British and American courts.
Journalist Hassan Ayub while speaking on the Azaad Digital’s podcast Azaadcast said that the move comes in response to allegations made against the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Ayub noted that if the allegations are not substantiated, the Pakistani state will seek substantial damages, the closure of the Drop Site website, and a public apology on associated social media accounts. He highlighted that UK courts require strong evidence, suggesting that the case is likely to be dismissed in an initial hearing due to the baseless nature of the claims.
Ayub also questioned why Hussain and Grim, who have previously contributed to The Intercept, chose to publish their story on Drop Site—a paid platform allegedly biased in favor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He criticised the website for allegedly favoring Imran Khan and accused Grim of holding a visible vendetta against the Pakistani Army and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.i government has announced its decision to pursue legal action against journalists Murtaza Hussain, Ryan Grim, and the website Drop Site in British and American courts.
In respond, Ryan Grim has said “Pakistan is offering us terms of general amnesty”
